Congratulations – CFI’s Award 2025
Guelph, ON - November 18 2025
Aviation Solutions would like to extend our congratulations to Chief Flight Instructor Eileen Carter of the Rockcliffe Flying Club in Ottawa upon receiving the 2025 Chief Flight Instructor’s Award. This national award is presented annually to recognize outstanding flight training educators who have displayed superior professionalism, skill, and dedication. The award recognizes those who contribute in a positive way to Aviation Solutions’ flight instructor refresher or upgrade courses, their schools, students, colleagues, the aviation community, and industry at large. Eileen was selected from the nearly 175 flight instructors who completed an Aviation Solutions program in 2025.
“Eileen has a history of excellence that we have observed through our many interactions with her” said Michael Schuster, Chair of the Selection Committee. “From her very first FIRC with us as a Class 4 flight instructor, our team of facilitators observed that she was incredibly intelligent, diligent, and skilful; having produced some of the top assignments we’ve seen in such areas as Threat and Error Management and Scenario Based Training”. Since then, Eileen has completed both of Aviation Solutions’ Class 2 and Class 1 Upgrade courses and now holds a Class 1 flight instructor rating.
“I'm grateful for this recognition from Aviation Solutions. It’s a privilege to be part of a community of instructors who collaborate, share knowledge, and continually elevate one another” said Eileen upon hearing about her recognition. “I’ve learned a great deal from the professional development courses I've taken with Aviation Solutions, and I've reinvested that new knowledge into my students. These lessons now find their way into every briefing, flight, and conversation with my team of instructors, and then spreads to their students.”
Eileen is a leader in the Ottawa area, regularly keeping in touch with other CFIs and stakeholders regarding collaborative safety initiatives. She notes that “the art of helping people to learn has always been a community effort.” Eileen is also an active member with the Ninety-Nines supporting females in aviation, and has been involved with both Air Cadets and the Soaring Association of Canada for over twenty years.
Aviation Solutions is proud to recognize and promote quality flight instruction and professional flight instructors through this award. Past recipients can be found on the Aviation Solutions website.
